Nielsen is an exceptional talent from Canada. He began his rhythm tap career as a founding member of «MADD Rhythms Canada» under the direction of Lisa La Touche, studying with Bril Barrett, Martin Tre Dumas III and Jumanee Taylor. He danced as a member of Heather Cornell's Company «Can Tap», and has taught and performed at the big Tap Festivals, such as «Chicago Human Rhythm Project», «Zurich Tap Festival», «L.A. Tap Fest», «Calgary Tap Festival» and «Brasil Tap Jazz». Danny was an integral part of Vancouver based dance company Radical System Art's production «Telemetry». The show was a hit and toured internationally for over 3 years. In 2012, Danny was the recipient of the Santa Aloi Award from the Scotiabank Dance Centre. He used the grant to create and direct his first full-length production «Love Be Best Free», which toured in February 2017. He also co created «Night Cap» with Joel Hanna which featured American tap icons Martin ‘Tre’ Dumas III and Jason Samuels Smith. His second full length production «On Foot» was celebrated and premiered 2019 in both Vancouver and Calgary. Danny has just returned from NYC where he was cast as a lead in Derick K. Grant's newest production «What Is This Thing Called Love?».
