Tap dance developed in the 19th century in the United States and is now known all over the world. Rhythmic sounds are produced with two metal plates which are attached to the front and rear of the shoes. All kinds of music is used to tap dance to. The «Hoofers» were the first idols, such as The Nicholas Brothers, Bunny Briggs, The Condos Brothers, Arthur Duncan, Jimmy Slide, Dianne Walker. Later, Fred Astaire, Gene Kelly. Gregory Hines gave Tap dance new life in the 80s and Savion Glover led it to the present time. Backstage Studio is proud to regurarly invite many of today's greatest tap dancers as guest lecturers.

Age Group
Tap courses are suitable for the young and old. Depending on your level and your teacher, you can select a course that is more or less physically intense. For Seniors we offer specifically structured courses. For children (from 4 years) and teens (from 12 years) we offer special courses.

Fees
The courses are paid per trimester. The exact price is listed in the detailled view of every course. It is possible to book single lessons.
Current introductory course
The current tap introductory course takes place from 6 April - 8 June 2021, tuesdays 20.30 - 21.30 h, with Flavia. Get to know the first tap dance steps, cool beats and rhythms. 10 lessons, CHF 210.-/ students 190.-. Tap dance shoes will be provided free of charge throughout the course. Next introductory course

Andrea Müller
is a member of the Backstage Studio Tap Company. Her pleasant teaching style and imaginative choreographies are full joy!

Daniel Borak
celebrates national and international engagements. He teaches the latest trends and tricks of the international tap dance scene. Enjoy his musicality and inspiring choreographies!

Flavia Gosteli
is a co-choroegrapher and a member of «Tap Dan’s Company», the company of Daniel Borak. She interprets songs in a rhythmically exciting variety, and her lessons are a pleasure for beginner to advanced students.

Mory Rüfenacht
has been an enthusiastic and captivating tap dance teacher for children and seniors for twelve years.

Nikolaj Bauer
is a motivational tap dancer and a professionally trained tap dance teacher. He shares his tap knowledge acquired in Barcelona and his great passion for improvisation is inspiring.

Regine Ochsner
is the founder and director of Backstage Studio. After her long career as a professional dancer, she shares her profound knowledge with children, teens and adults with enthusiasm and motivation.

Sabine Bräuer
is a long-term member of the Swiss tap dance scene. She has immense teaching experience. With Sabine, you learn rhythmical diversity, a profound technique and how to dance and swing.

Suela Raschetti
is a former Swiss junior tap dance champion and a member of the Backstage Studio Tap Company. She teaches her skills with ease and motivation.

Ursina Childs
is already as a child a promising tap talent. She attracts attention from international tap teachers and receives scholarships to the biggest festivals in the USA. She convinces with a fresh, modern tap dance style.
